Biography

Jannis Roos has been playing the violin since he was four years old. For many years, he was a junior student at the HfKM Regensburg (Bavarian early education programme for highly gifted string players) in the class of Prof. Conrad von der Goltz. He then studied violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts (HMTM) Munich with Prof. Ingolf Turban.

Jannis has participated in numerous master classes with renowned violin professors in Germany and abroad. He is a multiple national prize winner – both as a soloist and in ensembles – and has been awarded several cultural prizes and scholarships. As a long-standing member of the Violinissimo formations (JKO, string ensemble, string quartet), he has enjoyed international success and performed at venues including Carnegie Hall in New York.

Jannis Roos works as a concert violinist and composer in Germany and abroad, both as a soloist and in various ensembles in different musical genres.
